My neighbors must be really
'busy' or something, I haven't seen the 'do not disturb' sign leave
their door knob. Last trip to Akihabara -- sad face -- and then off
to Harajuku. I found a pair of hooked gloves (I've been looking for
a good pair for years), they're pretty cool and only cost me 3000 yen
-- eak! Interesting clothes tend to be expensive, darn supply and demand.
There were a couple gothic-punkish outfits that I liked (nothing too
over the top I assure you), but they ran around 8000+ yen. I saw my
first cyber dressed girl today. She didn't do the look justice. She
was wearing a small chest plate/bib/halter with nothing underneath it,
no chest either. It's too bad, that stuff is pretty expensive.
I talked to the French sounding
guest services guy today about moving to Japan. Appearntly he had come
here for a couple month long trip and decided to stay -- that was 11
years ago. I would really like to do it, if only for like a year. Right
now everything is open, for the first time since High School I can choose
what I do. Hush to all you who say I had choices in the military. It
doesn't count when all your choices are things you hate.
My luggage has like doubled
in weight. Good thing I had packed light comming here, my little outfits
don't take up much space. Oh my gosh, my sweaty dirty clothes stink
terribly. I pity the airport worker who digs through my stuff.
I saw one of the black vans.
The guy wasn't nearly as angry sounding as he would have been if he
was an American, but we tend to be loud and obnoxious. I noticed I tend
to shake hands harder than the Europeans I've met, and I generally have
a weak-average handshake. On the other hand my only frame of reference
is the military. However, when the American women hugged me goodbye,
I like barely touched them. Maybe I still have some of my old phobic
tendencies.
