Air Defense Haruko Plus! Ep. 25: No Need for Cockroaches
It finally happened, I saw a live cockroach this morning. I swear the bugger was like 2.5 inches and there he was scurring across my bedroom floor. Upon seeing him I promptly yelled (or screamed) for my roommate who was in the shower. Shortly thereafter she steps out in her towel to only to find me tracking the critter as it ran around my room. Not wanting bug guts all over my floor I dropped a mug on it so it wouldn't disapear while I was at class, hoping it would be dead by the time I got back because I've sprayed so much roach spray and have about 10 roach baits around the apartment. Of course it wasn't. I evicted it (I don't have the heart to kill them) in a complex opperation involving sliding the mug on across the floor on a piece of paper.
So that was one of my adventures with the local wildlife. I think the aparament or somewhere also has fleas 'cause I'm getting eatten alive. One day I'm going to get fed up and bomb the hell out of the place. I already sprayed along the windows and walls installed this thingy on the bottom of the door and tupperwearized the food. Still, I don't feel safe, bastards.
On a separate note, OBC sucks. Its horribly disorganized, a tremendous waste of time. Its like intersession only more time consuming and you can't blame the suck on West Point. I'm even more bent on getting out of Air Defense (or Defence as the Aussie's spell it), but getting the credits I need to be an RN is proving to be more difficult than I anticipated.
FT Bliss could be worse. Granted, the speed limit is 15 miles an hour in many areas on post and never breaks 35. And there's a stop sign every 40 feet. The roads are pretty shitty and there's no gutters so when it rains lakes appear in the middle of the intersection. The curbs are small which is good because they don't hurt muy car when I hit them, but bad cause I can't tell where the curb is. Even the speed bumps are broken. Oh yeah, what's good, well at least it's in a form of civilization. I found an Asian Market, and while it's not HK market, I have my bulgogi and Mochi ice cream. And there's all the shopping necessities x2 and there's even Hot Dog on a Stick and Jack in the Box and Del Taco. Too bad there's no In and Out or King Taco or Pecos Bill and couple other California places.
